Stewed Apples

Stewed Apples.jpeg

A perfect recipe to light up digestive fire. In Ayurveda our digestive system is compared to fire (Agni) and when we wake up, focusing on nourishing ourselves with simple warming foods helps ignite our fire for the day. Stewed (or cooked) apples are a great way to start the day as warm fruits are easier to digest, apples themselves include pectin which is a soluble fiber that supports gut health, feeds good bacteria, boosts immunity, and reduces inflammation. Plus it is delicious.
